Member Spotlight: Naveera Ashraf 👨💻
A community platform for makers to connect, learn, share and discover everything No Code. Users can follow, ask questions, start discussions, like, comment and share content.
This week we talk to Naveera, a self-taught developer who loves no code tools. Naveera usually makes his apps through code but for quick prototypes or time sensitive projects he likes to use no code tools.
Naveera recently made a SOS app for COVID-19 lockdown, connecting healthy and low-risk volunteers to high risk people in their locality.
Naveera made the app with GlideApps which he learned about on NoCodeDevs.com.
Where are you from?
I am from Pakistan. I have been living in South Africa for the last 12 years.
What inspired you to make a SOS COVID-19 app?
South Africa has a high number of people who are potentially high risk to COVID-19 (TB and AIDS). Having volunteers who could run your essential errands would mean that the high risk people can avoid interaction. And I wanted to make sure I am doing my bit for the community.
Where can people go to find out more about your app?
My app is HelpSA COVID-19 SOS. Currently it is for South Africa based people only.
You can access it here: https://ilxz5.glideapp.io/

On Tuesday (June 2), at 7:00 pm CET, 1:00 pm EST, we’ll show you (again) how to create a full-fledged MVP quickly. If you missed the previous webinar, make sure to attend this one! Our Customer Success Manager will guide you through the MVP creation process in 40 minutes – from building a login page to connecting the data to your app without coding.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I have a sourdough starter for the last 6 years. I affectionately call it Frothy. 😀
What do you like about being a member of NoCodeDevs?
The amount of new tools I am learning about. I have launched a free, bi-monthly newsletter by the name of ShiftClick (https://shiftclick.co.za) which will share tools and resources on the intersection of technology, writing, and sciences for learners of all ages. And thanks to NoCodeDevs community I would be able to share a lot of cool tools on my newsletter too.
