Cheating Issues in No Code Challenges 🛑

A community platform for makers to connect, learn, share and discover everything No Code. Users can follow, ask questions, start discussions, like, comment and share content.

Hello No Coders,

We’ve been working on some security issues in the voting feature of the NoCodeDevs Challenge page. We had a hunch for a while people were cheating on upvotes because some submissions would have an impossibly large number of votes. We’ve caught cheaters in the past and had to disqualify them.

The cheating happened again for the Twitter Weather Bot challenge. This time, the person cheating admitted they found a security flaw in our system. They showed us how they set up a bot to take advantage of that flaw to keep adding votes to their submission.

This person showed us how they used Integromat to automatically upvote their submission.

We do not condone cheating in our challenges, especially when we have a community of people who work so hard to build no code apps – many for the first time. We love being able to work with sponsors to offer cash prizes for the winners, but the real winning is doing the challenge in the first place.

Until we can secure the Challenge voting system, we will choose the winner. The site will still be open for upvotes, but final winners will be decided on a number of factors. We hope to have a solution to this problem soon.

Thank you for your understanding.

Happy no coding!

This is a cool story how a son set up an online store for his mom's business using automation to keep it personalized.
